Class Waitlists
A full class used to be a dead end. Members who wanted in had to keep checking back, and when someone cancelled, the freed spot usually went unnoticed — so classes ran with empty places while people would happily have taken them.
Now they can queue. Any class type with an attendance limit gets a waitlist automatically — there is nothing to switch on.
For members, in the app: tap Join waitlist on a full class and your place is shown right there — #2 in line. If someone cancels, the first person in the queue is booked in automatically and emailed. There is no spot to claim and no link to race for. Joining costs nothing: no session or punch is used while you wait, only when you are actually booked in.
For staff, on the class page: a Waitlist card shows everyone in line, in order, with their plan and when they joined — and you can remove anyone. The attendee count now reads 8 / 8 +3 waiting, so a full class explains itself at a glance. On a full class, Add attendee becomes Add to waitlist, so the action in front of you is always one that can actually work.
Spots open in more ways than a cancellation, and all of them promote from the queue: raise a class type's attendance limit and the waiting members are let in; remove the limit entirely and everyone waiting gets a place.
One detail worth knowing: a member's membership is checked when a spot opens, not when they joined. If it expired or ran out of sessions while they waited, the spot passes to the next person — but they keep their place in the queue and get one email explaining why, so they can sort it out before the next spot comes up.
All four waitlist emails — joined, booked in, passed over, removed — can be edited or switched off in Settings → Email Templates.
